sublime to the ridiculous

a rapid transition

I don't have time for that...

...or do I?
Facebook...a great way to keep in touch with friends and family, it's true. But do I actually have time for another one of these keeping-in-touch things? We have Skype, iChat, our website, blog, email, yahoogroups, telephone and a mobile. Facebook is fun and addictive, and it can take over your life. You can update what your doing at all times. And see what others are up to. But do your friends and family really want to know everything? As a lady on the BBC news said: "Do people really want to know that you are yawning or sneezing?"

Well, actually not the sneezing or yawning bit; but the photos and tidbits of info I find really fun. You can have competitions with your friends, send them free gifts, create some great artwork on their graffiti wall; and the fun goes on and on. So, if you use Facebook in moderation it could add a little fun time to your already busy life with friends who live all over the world.

I choose...uhm..uhm

Yes, what do you choose when there are so many choices? Walking down the aisle of a superduper-supermarket in America, Bryony and I were slightly overwhelmed while visiting my family. Breakfast cereals, salad dressings, sauces, puddings. Our heads were spinning.

Is it good to have so many choices? I guess if you had all these choices every day you would get used to it. I have the feeling I would always go for the cheap brand. Or maybe try a different brand and flavour every week... But I am reminded of a quote about too much choice hindering the ability to choose. People tend to avoid a decision when faced with a glut of possibilities. Kind of a less-is-more thing.

Life in small village Kruiningen seems so much calmer and easier, a lot less complicated. If I need salad dressing I have two choices at our local shop. It takes only a couple of seconds to grab one or the other and bike back home to dress my salad. Less choice seems best for the time being and for being timely.

Losing it

Moxie is growing up. Last week he lost his first baby tooth. He can't wait to put it under his pillow! Isn't it fun to be a kid...
