For Bryony's 10th Birthday we spent the day at this huge playground in Bokrijk, Belgium. It's about an hour away (not too far from my dad's house). We brought a picnic lunch to enjoy together. We had hoped to play in their water-park that had just opened but it was closed for repairs. So instead we played mini-golf. Even Jasper enjoyed hitting the ball around the course. Amber beat the socks off Rip (actually she only beat him by three points)! It turned out to be the only sunny day that week so it was perfect. The kids jumped, slid, ran, rolled, climbed, fell and had a thoroughly good play on all the equipment.
We got home at about 8 pm and as we had promised to have a BBQ we started preparations for that. We realized we had forgotten to buy BBQ starter-blocks so after having searched the internet we used egg cartons filled with lint, birthday candles and coals. It was 9:30pm by the time we sat down to eat but what is more fun than wrapping up warm and eating BBQ by candle light. The best part was roasting the marshmellows and then jumping on the trampoline in the dark to lose those calories!
